It's been some time since a major Raven's Jig release. Today, I'd like to present an arrangement I've been willing to make for months now. This is an arrangement of "Fireflies" by Owl City; a rather peculiar synthy song that we were fortunate enough to turn into a completely different style. The original Fireflies features plucky synthesizers and heavy vocal processing. This arrangement builds upon the theme of Tagetes; one of my most favourite flowers, and the idea that any song sounds better with a little percussion. In all seriousness; Raven's Jig is still working hard on various arrangements despite the busyness of this time of the year. Spring not only brings the joy of long-awaited sunshine and warmth, but also the necessary tasks with it. Please enjoy this arrangement and read the lyrics posted below to get the full picture of this song!

Lyrics:

L'or des insectes, l'or des Aztèques

English translation:

Where do our worries and your rails
Our hearts on your strawroads
As ephemere as pollen
Golden coins flying in the air
Leaving tears in the atmosphere
Today tagetes are in the mood for partying

They don't care about the world turning
The great circle of life
When spring's here, what matters more after all
Than the sparkle on the butterflies' wings

Anybody could say whatever they want
I myself find this hymn to dance
As beautiful as ten million butterflies
The universe is having fun at daytime
It's the sun's turn to vibrate
And tagetes kick their stems up their corollas

Before we turned them into smoke
Weeds knew how to greet
The passing spring coming to wake the seasons up
And the sparkle on the butterflies' wings

A train passing, a branch cracking
An eye teasing me down my hammock
Away from sheep, sorrow and void
I'm taking them to my asteroid

To ten million tagetes
Who welcomed me to their feast
My eyes aren't misty but my heart is on fire
So I took three of them away
And then I took them back home
In a vase I never stopped holding in my arms

To earth which is my begging bowl
Eager of all possible marvels
Imbecile of a planet, I love your spring more than I should
And your tagetes and your butterflies' wings

To forget about bitter worries
Forget about railroads
When spring is here, our hearts sing their love in unison
To the sparkle on the butterflies' wings

The insects' gold, the aztec gold
Don't matter to me anymore
What matters more, after all, when spring is here
Than the treasure in the vase hidden at my place
On my strawroads
