With Dr. Nefarious appearing yet again as a villain in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, is it wrong to say that this character deserves a break? If Nefarious is the main bad guy again, can we now say he's overused?
Dr. Nefarious is certainly a staple villain of the Ratchet & Clank franchise, one would understand why he's made so many appearances. But at a point you start to wonder if it's time for a new villain.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Aparts story revolves around the idea of dimensional counterparts. Dr. Nefarious meets the Emperor whereas Ratchet & Clank meet Rivet & Kit.
Ratchet, for some time, has been curious about the prospect of visiting other Lombaxes. As for Rivet (another Lombax Ratchet meets aka his dimensional counterpart) seems more eager and willing to visit the Lombaxes.
The story Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart concludes with an open ending. Just what is this Pit Stop Ratchet is referring to? No one really knows where the series stands after Rift Apart. What we do know is that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has topped sales charts and has received quite the warm reception.
