DETAILS ON THIS GLITCH:
If you're not 100% familiar with the game, let me walk you through it. :) So, Veldin is the first planet you visit on the game. The first out of bounds area shown here can never be entered, however, the second area (The Ranger Tryouts), can only be entered once.
Going back to planet Veldin, the Ranger Tryouts are blocked off, but you can perform a glitch to go through the course again. Doing so will trigger the next part of what was the storyline (you'll already have passed it it at this point), then you'll return to Veldin (at night).
However, you'll start off from the normal position, landing with the ship, rather than where you would have done back at this point in the storyline.
Oh, and Veldin is always at night from now on. To get Veldin day back, you'll have to finish the game and begin again. :(
