When using the breadvolt, or any battery power supply on a breadboard project, do not turn the power supply on while the Raspberry Pi Pico is connected to USB, as you could generate voltage conflicts. It is an either or. If the USB is connected, the power supply should be OFF. Or if you are going to connect the USB, first turn off the power supply. If you want to power the Pi Pico by the breadvolt, you should power the pico through the Vsys pin. Complete details on use of a portable power supply on your Pi Pico Projects can be found here:

You can get the oscilloscope like I use in this lesson. Note, you do not have to have an oscilloscope to complete this class, but it is helpful in troubleshooting your circuits:

In this class we will be using the Sunfounder Raspberry Pi Pico W Keppler Kit. It will make things a lot easier if we are working on identical hardware. the link below is to amazon, and is for the identical hardware I will be using in this entire class.

In this video, I describe how you can use the TA6586 motor controller and the Raspberry Pi Pico W to remotely control a DC motor. I will show you how to control both speed and direction of the motor. The motor controller runs on your PC, and you will created a nice PyQt Graphical widget, which will allow you to remotely control your DC motor over WiFi. We show how to do both the client software on your PC and the server software on your Pi Pico W. Enjoy!
