A very rare McLaren P1 HDK arriving at The California Showcase at IKEA, organized by The Exotics Network (TEN) and Morning Car Club. Built by Lanzante, the HDK is named after the McLaren F1’s optional factory High Downforce Kit designed to combine styling elements from the 1995 Le Mans-winning F1 GTR with the usability of the roadgoing model. It features upgraded suspension, center-locking wheels, gold heat shielding in the engine bay (a feature of the F1), a ceramic exhaust system, and revised bodywork for increased downforce with components from the P1 GTR. This example, based on a 2015 P1 and finished in green (Verde Ermes) with tan Alcantara interior, is the second of nine P1 HDKs being built. It is powered by an upgraded 4.0-litre engine developed in partnership with Cosworth producing almost 1,000 bhp.
