In a 7-2 decision, the Supreme Court just upheld the Harper-era mandatory minimum sentence of 6 months in jail for anyone convicted of paying for (or attempting to pay for) sex with someone under 18.
No more probation or slaps on the wrist.
After years of infuriating rulings that weakened protections for children, this is a rare moment of common sense from the top court.
