Post-nerf edit: 1) Use Bandmate/Pinball/Synchrony 2) Profit!
There's room for improvement, but I'm just happy I nailed the last half of that guitar solo. I'm not da bess, but I did manage to GS my entire library! (And troll the #14 overall leader board spot for a couple of amusing weeks.)
Here are some tips for casual players like myself:
Power-Ups:
- If you are in fact da bess, try Jackpot and Flame Notes.
- Bandmate and Flame Notes work well for short-to-medium length songs without sporadic instruments, and they combine better with less tracks.
- Jackpot and Blast Notes work well with long songs and chord sustains.
- Always use Synchrony! You can even abuse it by hitting both shift buttons simultaneously.
General:
- Focus on maximizing your multipliers early, but feel free to ignore them near the end.
- Overdrive notes on sparse tracks give substantial Energy.
- Where possible, try to prioritize accuracy for your Blitz meter.
- Hit those hold notes!
