Janie and I were scared to death when our RV started shaking like a strong earthquake on board, we were traveling over 35 MPH on a two lane road when it happened the first time. We thought we had two flat front tires...maybe ran over something ... then we check out tires in a graveyard (fitting eh!) and turned out tires seemed fine. Got back on the road and it did it again 15 minutes later.
Had it checked out and replaced to front tires and had it balanced. Still, did it again on another 2 lane main roadway a week later. Scared we'd crash and die, as the steering wheel is hard to handle at this point, we thought we couldn't even live with ourselves if we sold it. So, we set out to find the issue. It ended up being an easy self-fix situation. Our sway bars were no longer carrying gaskets!!
They'd go into shake mode and it was horrific to say the least!
Janie even as much said she'd never drive in the RV again!
I didn't blame her! It was dangerous. I later learned our event was called "The Death Wobble" as it's that dangerous!
Fixed we've enjoyed our RV for over a year!
We waited to upload this video to make sure it worked for us on a long-term situation. It has and we are happy we were able to find and fix the issue!
Next up: How to fix your turn signals.
