Ongoing attacks on cargo ships in the Red Sea are delaying the arrival of goods to the Kenyan port of Mombasa – and pushing up prices of consumables, like dates, which are customarily used to break fast in the Holy Month of Ramadan. It could be that for many Muslims in the region the sweet fruits are just out of financial reach for the festivities.

The BBC’s Peter Mwangangi has been to Kenya’s port city of Mombasa to find out more about the impact of the Red Sea attacks, two months on.
