If your PC is stuttering, freezing, or throwing out of memory errors, this Windows trick keeps your system stable even when RAM prices are insane. Windows 10 and Windows 11 both let you set a large static page file, and it can make a huge difference on systems with low amounts of RAM.
In this video I show you how to open the real Advanced System Settings window, change your virtual memory settings, and set a static 32GB page file so Windows stops lagging when memory runs out. This won't replace real RAM, but it will reduce stutters, crashes, and slowdowns on a ton of machines.
This tweak is also referred to as increasing Windows virtual memory. Give this PC stuttering fix a try even if you don't notice a lot of Windows slowdowns and you might just feel the difference in smoothness. I set a large static page file on all my machines, whether they have a lot of RAM in them or not.
