Today we take a look at the AnimeTube situation as of about July 14th with some insight from folks within the industry. It’s been argued a lot that this was all a scam, and while that can’t be definitively be proved, we can look into how feasible any of their goals were within the current anime streaming environment. That isn’t to say the current streaming environment is perfect and we do not blame anyone for wanting some of the things AnimeTube promised. It isn’t wrong to want things to improve, but to ask for crowdfunding to accomplish a goal that many industry veterans claim isn’t possible, then to avoid or deflect concerns… to quote Nagatoro, is a little sus.
