Raised by Aliens is about life. But not about "livin it." It's about our lives. It's about being born and raised into a rapidly evolving, everchanging world. A world that we'd never truly be able to understand. A world that is hostile to us, even though it was built to cater exactly to people like us.
This album was written while we were both in our 20s. We both grew up in the information age, and we are both internet-raised people. Our parents and family were still present in our lives, but somewhat disconnected at times and unsure of the things that tied us to our screens. But a lot of what we love, what we think, what we dream of, was built on the internet. On digital media. We've loved, laughed, cried, hurt, and thrived in this digital hell, and it's a first home to both of us in many ways.
There is so much hurt, so much pain, so much destruction in the world. But that hasn't stopped what we love, or what we believe in. Raised by Aliens tells a life story. Not ours, just *a* life story, through the culture of music and its evolution over the past two decades. A story of someone raised by aliens.
