Demonstrated is how the colors of the rainbow emerge when a white light ray (sunlight) hits a spherical water drop, preceded by some basic concepts of optics such as Snell's law of refraction, angle of refraction, total reflection, color (frequency/wavelength) dependent refractive indices, etc.

The coefficient R used in the video is the intensity of the reflected ray found by the Fresnel equations for a mix of s- and p polarized light. The coefficient T is, by energy conservation, just 1-R.
