Back in 2015, a groundbreaking concept for a Realtime Animated Interactive Drama (RAID) was presented on the AWE stage. The vision was there, but the technology wasn't ready. A decade later, its time has finally come.
RAID fuses motion capture, game engines, and live audience interactivity, allowing a single performance to happen simultaneously across physical venues, VR, and digital streams. This isn't passive viewing—the audience actively shapes the narrative.
In this session, discover what has shifted in the tech landscape over the last ten years, why the rise of AI is actually making live performance more valuable, and explore three practical use cases relevant to:
Gaming & Game Development
Experiential Marketing
Interactive Storytelling
Live Entertainment
The session will also feature exclusive, behind-the-scenes insights from the creation of the RAID project "Compound Illusion" (developed with Game On Montreal), breaking down what worked, what broke, and the unexpected surprises along the way.
Session Speaker:
- Pascal Langdale, Director, Collective Intent
This session was recorded at AWE USA 2026 - the world's leading XR + AI event series. To learn more visit: awexr.com
