Rahul Mishra’s Haute Couture collection transforms India’s ancient sculptural heritage into an elaborate fashion landscape. Inspired by the sacred stone carvings of Ajanta and Ellora and the figures of Gandhara, the collection translates temple iconography into intricate couture, with tonal gray silk embroidery recreating the appearance of weathered stone reliefs.
Corseted silhouettes, stone-beaded garlands, ceremonial headpieces and monumental three-faced headdresses amplify the collection’s sculptural character. Developed with traditional clay artisan Sumant Kumar, the accessories draw from ancient temple crowns, while the garments evoke apsaras, celestial dancers and other divine figures.
