Ragam Gamanashrama has a few noteworthy compositions such as Sri Chakrapurivasini by Dr Harikeshanallur Muthiah Bhagavathar,Ubhaya Kaveri by Veena Seshanna,Dasavidha Gamaga Veena Gana priye by Brahmasri Kollegal R Subramanyam to mention some.
Ragam Gamakakriya is also popularly known as Purvi Kalyani and is certainly more known and performed than it's parent scale Gamanashrama.Purvi Kalyani is a majestic Ragam with some epic compositions like Meenakshi Memudam Dehi by Sri Dikshitar,Parama Pavana Rama by Sri Poochi Srinivas Iyengar,Gyanamusagaradha by Thygaaraja Swamy,Enneramum Unnaaman by Sri Syama Sastri to mention a few.
Ragam Hamsanandhi is a very lively and blissful Janya Ragam of Gamanashrama,that has been often very popular with Carnatic music performers.Needumahima by Dr Muthiah Bhagavathar,Srinivasa Thiruvenkata by Papanasam Sivan,are just few of the many such melodic compositions in Hamsanandhi Ragam.
