Ragam Chalanatta(Chalanattai)is the the last Ragam in the Suddha Madhyama Ragam series.The special feature of this ragam being the presence of Shatshruthi Daivatam and Shatshruti Rishabham.Few notable compositions in this Vivadi Ragam are Kori Vacchitinee by Brahmasri Kollegal R Subramanyam,Rajadhiraja Varnam by Baluswami Dikshitar,Edhayyagathi by Koteeshwara Aiyyar.
Ragam Natta(Nattai)is a very auspicious and popular Janya Ragam of Chalanatta.Amongst many distinguished compositions in Nattai are Mahaganapathim,Swaminatha Paripalaya,Parameshwara by Sri Dikshitar Shakthi Ganapathim by Dr Muthiah Bhagavathar,Vallabha Ganapate Paahi by Sri Narahari Bhagavathar,the inimitable first Pancharatnam Jagadananda Karaka by Sadguru Thyagaraja Swamy.
Ragam Ghambheeranatta is yet another pentatonic Janya Ragam of Chalanatta.It is very interestingly observed in the Mallari tunes played by the Nadaswaram in temples.Sri Jalandharam by Sri Jayachamaraja Wodeyar,Sarava Bhava Maha Mantraroopa by Brahmasri Kollegal R Subramanyam,are some beautiful compositions in Ghambheeranatta Ragam.
