I set out for a solo birthday adventure in Colorado with a simple plan... go rafting, mountain biking, and then find quiet camp spot for the night in my Rossmonster Baja Trail.
The day started off exactly how I hoped, a DIY pack raft mission down the river, an e-bike shuttle back to town, a stop at the festival, and a peaceful mountain camp spot. But once wildfire smoke started rolling in... the trip took a serious turn.
After realizing the fire was much closer than I thought, and with strong winds pushing through the mountains, I decided to pack up camp and get out before things got worse.
Really hoping for the best for not only everyone in the town of Ouray, but for everyone in the west currently being affected by the insane fires we are experiencing. I try to always stress this in every video I make, but when you are out exploring and adventuring... recreate responsibly.
