Here I present to you my dear students, Rafael Marcelino Palacios and Ana Cecilia GutiΓ©rrez from Mexico. In this video, Rafa & Ana are reciting Urutu-Mohara-Muktaya in Tala Avadhana; i.e. Chaturashra Jathi Dhruva Tala in one hand & Mishrachapu Tala in another hand simultaneously.
Rafa is a professional composer - arranger - bassist - percussionist who has played and arranged for a wide variety of projects including Latin American styles such as Cuban, AfroCaribbean, Brazilian, Peruvian, Mexican as well as Jazz, Funk, Soul, Flamenco, Middle Eastern and other World Music genres.
Ana is a singer who besides playing different styles of music, is a creative educator and music therapist and has developed her own teaching style though her project PakindaMusik which aims to teach music to children and adults incorporating among other methodologies the Carnatic Pedagogy system.
