This video includes two worked examples for radioactive decay law. In example No. 1 we determine the age of an object based on the percentage of carbon-14 remaining in the sample. In example No. 2 we determine the activity of a one gram sample of a radioactive isotope.
Radioactive decay law states that the number of parent nuclei in a radioactive sample decreases exponentially over time. Radioactive decay is the process by which an unstable atomic nucleus loses energy by spontaneously emitting radiation in the form of alpha, beta and gamma particles.
