This patch uses noise from a non-broadcasting FM radio as a sound source 👉 Filtered through CINNAMON and shaped in AIKIDO, which acts as both mixer and VCA controlled by a hi-hat envelope from NEO TRINITY. If your radio output is too quiet, boost it with BUDDY. The beauty of this method lies in its unpredictability - random interference or fleeting broadcasts often sound more alive than standard noise sources.
To enrich the rhythm section, CRUST handles kicks and snares using its dual-voice trick: an envelope modulates the CTRL input to shape noise and tone separately. The melodic part comes from a modulated PIZZA, blending FM synthesis and wavefolding. Its amplitude envelope also drives FM depth, while a random LFO introduces subtle motion in fold and pitch, sampled only on triggers for rhythmic consistency.
AIKIDO also doubles as a clever stereo FX send. By using the cascaded PRE-MUTE output instead of MIX, you can send selected channels into a fully wet BASIL and use AIKIDO’s MUTE switches to control which signals go to the effect. The BASIL return then goes into CIAO!! letting you perform dynamic wet/dry blends and stereo effects within an otherwise mono mix.
