RADIO HAM: Static Discharge Coil DX Commander Bleed coil : Anti-static...
Connected to the bottom of the DXCommander this little coil lets the static build up that happens everyday discharge into the ground, this helps to prevent (so I'm lead to believe) static discharge into your rig and clean up your received signals.

Hey why not look it up and see for yourself I'm not an expert on these matters just a guy that is giving it a go and sharing my experiences.
