Well, after the disaster that was my first attempt at the EWS 100 last year, I very much felt the need for some redemption this year.
Thankfully the weather was significantly better this time round, which pretty much made all the difference.
My genuine target for the day was simply to complete the day, with an ideal result in the top third, which is generally where I tend to finish in enduro races.
My overall time was 23:51 which placed me 41st out of 85 that completed the race in my category (35+) This doesn’t read great, but I’m super happy with this result as the other competitors were at a higher level than my usual races and I was only about 18% of the winners time, which is close for me.
The new bike from Deviate is on another level, and despite this being only my second ride on it, I think I went faster on it than I would have managed on the Highlander, which is impressive!
