Violinists Rachel Barton Pine and her daughter, Sylvia Pine, visited WFMT to inaugurate WFMT's new family-friendly request program 'Saturday Morning Listener's Choice,' which premieres January 4 at 8:00 am!

Enjoy this performance of two works from forthcoming 'Music by Black Composers Violin Volume 2': 'Such Thanks to Spirits' (1936) from the musical play 'Afiwa' by Nicholas Ballanta (1893-1962) from Sierra Leone, and 'Serenata' from 'A Sertaneja' by the earliest known Black woman composer, Francisca "Chiquinha" Gonzaga (1847-1935) from Brazil.
