We have a litter of baby raccoons in our yard every year for the past 3 or 4 years. This year's litter, March 2012, is six babies. We watched Mama Coon carry each one of these babies from the ground up a palm tree to get them back up to her nesting area. They stop by everyday about the same time to play in the water and get a quick bite to eat.
