Recorded live at the Darbar Festival 2018 at London’s Barbican Centre, Omkar Dadarkar brings out the layered beauty of Raag Jogkauns—a raga born in the 1940s from the creative vision of Pandit Jagannathbua Purohit ‘Gunidas.’ Accompanied by Tanmay Deochake (harmonium), Shahbaz Hussain (tabla), and the tanpuras of Gunwant Dhadyalla & Priya Parkash, Dadarkar explores both vilambit and drut khayal with luminous depth, intricate taans, and fluid improvisations. This performance is a soulful dialogue between voice, rhythm, and melody, revealing the grandeur and elegance of Jogkauns.
