Some folks are apparently incorrectly stating that the EOS R5 and R5C have different DPAF systems for video. Not true according to the spec sheets from Canon Europe, the most trustworthy Canon website I am aware of that I can read. Canon USA is often not updated.
Since people on YouTube often do not cite sources appropriately or check to see if some other person has their facts wrong, its anyone's guess as to where this information came from. The only thing I can conclude is either A: somebody misread something and is spreading false information or B: There are contradictory spec sheets floating around out there from Canon. Either way there is not proof that the DPAF systems are different between the two cameras.
The only thing I can conclude is that these cameras have the same DPAF version in video mode, as stated by the manufacturer.
