I’ve had this desk fan for years and from the beginning I thought it would make a good R2. This is one of the cool things about this wild Barb Makes Things project, all of those old ideas get pulled out for consideration. Then, when the good folks at Burbank Makerspace lent me their die cut machine, it was finally time.
Designing and applying detailed vinyl labels on a curved surface is challenging, because they will stretch given the slightest provocation and then all of a sudden your nice right angles are gone. But they are also forgiving on curves. It has its ups and downs. Still, new challenges are fun and now I have a desk fan that looks like R2.
