I'm not mad at God...I don't believe in God. 😑 #omoigbotheagnosticBlack Atheist - Why Am I Scared of Ghosts?Omo Igbo TheAgnostic2021-05-16 | I am...still afraid of the dark. Yes,it’s embarrassing to admit it. I’ve had this fear since I was a young whippersnapper. It’s silly, I know. Don’t judge me. In fact, I still get scared of a lot of silly things. Zoombies, ghosts, monsters, dinosaurs, spirits, etc. Recently I was wondering, how is it possible for me, a self proclaimed atheist to be afraid of the same supernatural entities I say I don’t believe in? How do those two realities co-exist within my mind? How do I manage fear? Does the fear make me less of an atheist? I don’t really know. And since by and large no one really cares about my neurotic thoughts I decided to share them anyways. We’ll see how this goes. Bear with me please.

#blackatheist #atheist #deconversionfromChristianityBlack Atheist - Tips On Coming Out As Atheist || My RegretsOmo Igbo TheAgnostic2021-03-06 | A few months ago I made a video explaining how I came out as an atheist to my Christian parents. It was kinda a hot mess. Kinda. Looking back on the whole experience I feel like I definitely could have handled it better. Soooo because you know no one is checking for my opinion, I thought I’d share what I wish I had done differently and provide some tips in case anyone out there is thinking about how to come out to their friends or family. Keep in mind! I’m just a broad with internet connection not a professional tip giver. Think for yourself and figure out what’s best for your situation. We’ll see how this goes though. Bear with me please.

#blackatheist #atheist #deconversionfromChristianityBlack Atheist - What Makes A Person Become An Atheist?Omo Igbo TheAgnostic2021-02-13 | I don’t know why I’m an atheist. I mean I know WHY. It’s because I don’t believe in any gods. I get that. But I don’t know why I am able to come to that conclusion and proclaim myself an atheist when many many many others do not or cannot. We all live in the same physical reality and are bound by the same laws of nature yet we come to drastically different conclusions about our reality. Why? Why do I not accept beliefs that 93% of the world’s population believe in? Uhhh spoiler alert, I don’t really know why. But I wouldn’t authentically be me if I didn’t over analyze and spend countless sleepless nights trying to figure it out. AND because my opinion holds zero significance in the grand scheme of things I decided to share anyways. So I present to you, reasons why I think I was able to become an atheist. Or something like that. We’ll see how this goes. Bear with me.

It included moments like when people ask to pray before a meal, assume atheists worship the devil, or just assume we’re religious at all. I thought it was a cute and relatable video and because no one really cares what I think I decided I would share anyways some of the awkward moments I’ve had in my life as a result of my atheism. Yay! Fun stories! So here they are. We’ll see how this goes. Bear with me.

#blackatheist #atheist #deconversionfromChristianityBlack Atheist Reads Comments From Believers || 6 Genres of CommentsOmo Igbo TheAgnostic2021-01-17 | I sometimes have a lot of time on my hands. As my mother would say, instead of popping out babies I’m over here popping out videos. I’m on YouTube oftenish. And I read a lot of comments. And I had/have some thoughts on some genres of comments I’ve noticed ....by believers towards nonbelievers. And obviously since no consenting adult has ever solicited my opinion...I decided to share anyway. So here is my definitely not even borderline quasi scientific analysis of those genres. And some eye rolling comments along the way. We’ll see how this goes. Bare with me.
Hello and welcome back to my channel. I’m Omoigbo humbled to have you watching. I’m still not posting regularly BUT this was a fun video to make and I may do something similar in the future. #blackatheist #atheist #deconversionfromChristianityBlack Atheist Responds to Black Christian Asking Black Atheist (Rants) QuestionsOmo Igbo TheAgnostic2020-12-12 | One day I was scrolling through YouTube, you know how I do. And through my clicking I stumbled upon a video by a Youtuber named When Jesus Leads. The video is called “Question for Black Atheist”. It’s basically a black christian man asking a specific youtuber Black Atheist Rants some questions. Some “how do you explain this??” type of questions.
By the way, if you haven’t yet you should check out Black Atheist Rants channel. He’s very high energy, passionate, and fun. He’s currently doing a series still I think on Genesis going through the chapters of that book. So check him out.
So like I said, the video was not intended for me. But in the spirit of not minding my own business I decided to make my own response video to those questions. And here are my quite unsolicited opinions.

#atheist #blackatheist #deconversionfromChristianityBlack Atheist - Nihilism, Truth, and PurposeOmo Igbo TheAgnostic2020-11-25 | One thing, I think, that believers struggle to understand is how I as a nonbeliever find the will each and every day to live even though I don’t believe in a god. From where do I derive my purpose in life if not from a spiritual entity? Then people start throwing the word nihilist around. A label that is tied to almost as many negative connotations as the label atheist is. And I’ll admit my initial reaction was to immediately start trying to explain to myself why I wasn’t one. I get so wrapped up in trying to prove that I have meaning in my life that I get distracted from the point. Which is that, nihilist or not, just feeling like a certain belief gives you purpose in life is not enough to claim that said belief is true. I have more words to say on this and since you know no one in this universe asked for my opinion I of course decided to share anyways. Bear with me please.

#atheist #blackatheist #deconversionfromChristianityBlack Atheist - Agnostic vs Atheist? My Label JourneyOmo Igbo TheAgnostic2020-10-19 | I’ve learned quite a bit since I started this channel. And as I learned I began to feel differently. Naturally, I suppose. Someone in the comments the other day asked me to explain why I started this channel as OmoIgbo the Agnostic but my videos are labeled as black atheist. Valid question. This atheist vs agnostic labeling thing. I would have the same question. Here’s what happened.
Hello and welcome back to my channel. Someone also asked me to pronounce my name, I think? Well, I’m OmoIgbo humbled to have you watching. Shout out to all you beautiful amazing human beings who have shared your stories in the comments. With your permission I would love to share them. #atheist #blackatheist #deconversionfromChristianityBlack Atheist - How I Came out to my Christian Parents?Omo Igbo TheAgnostic2020-10-02 | This video was very hard to write. The story of how I came out as atheist to my religious family. I actually wrote this last week but I wasn’t quite happy with the results so I decided to re write it. I wanted to be honest about what I was going through because the actual coming out part happened in earnest about 4 weeks ago. And at the same time I wanted to be respectful of my family. My first draft didn’t quite hit the right balance. Ultimately I decided that given my never ending pursuit of genuineness I wouldn’t be genuinely me if I didn’t speak my truth as it actually happened. So I’ll tell you how it went down. I would not recommend the same course of action. I’m just a human. And you know not to listen to everything you hear on the internet. Okay. Here it is. How I came out as atheist to my religious family.

#atheist #blackatheist #deconversionfromChristianityBlack Atheist - 6 Memories from Pentecostal Church Going Days...Omo Igbo TheAgnostic2020-09-18 | I went to a lot of church growing up. I was neck deep in a religious doctrine that was all about fire and brimstone, evil spirits, demons, the blood of Jesus, conformity, control, and the holy ghost. Can’t forget him. And then one day I thought, mmm maybe someone out there would find some of these things interesting. Am I correct in that assumption? Unlikely. Am I gonna share them anyways. Oh you betcha. Soooooo here are 6 weird experiences I’ve had in church.

#atheist #blackatheist #deconversionfromChristianityBlack Atheist - Why Did Black Americans Adopt White Jesus?Omo Igbo TheAgnostic2020-09-04 | I’m not a historian. I’m just a broad with internet access and occasional insomnia but please indulge me today. After my last video where I briefly talked about slavery and Christianity I kept wondering why is Christianity such a big fucking deal to African descendants here in America when that is definitely not their you know their native religion. How’d that happen? So I just wanted to get a basic understanding of how the enslaved Africans here in America came to embrace white Jesus so wholeheartedly. Did I figure it out? Not really? I got tired of Googling. Should you listen anyways? Probably not. BUT since my opinion remains largely unsolicited I decided to share anyways. If you have a few minutes to waste here’s what I found out.

#atheist #blackatheist #deconversionfromChristianityBlack Atheist Responds to Black Christians Talking About Black AtheistsOmo Igbo TheAgnostic2020-08-09 | Breaking news. Millennials are leaving religion at historic rates. And I’m happy to announce, that includes black millennials. Black Christians are noticing that more and more of their congregation is opting for nonbelief or at the bare minimum opting to disassociate from Christianity. Black Christians must address the elephant in the room. That is atheism. I saw three videos on YouTube recently where black people tried to talk to and about black atheists and all three videos...irritated me. Let’s talk about it.
#atheist #blackatheist #deconversionfromChristianityBlack Atheist - What is a Christian? Was I a Christian?Omo Igbo TheAgnostic2020-07-23 | I've been having doubts about using the term deconverted? What does it mean to be a Christian? Was I really a Christian? If I was a child most of the time I was in Christianity? Hmmm thoughts of a black agnostic atheist.

#atheist #blackatheist #deconversionfromChristianityA Conversation With My 17 Year Old Self - 10 Years LaterOmo Igbo TheAgnostic2020-02-16 | Hey people. Warning this video is not about religion or nonbelief but it’s something I’ve been meaning to do for a while. Some of you may know that I’ve been a vlogger since I was in high school. I recently went through some of my old stuff and found a video from when I was 17 almost 18.It was a video filled with teen angst and watching it now makes me cringe. But I’m glad I have a snapshot of where I was at that point in my life. Roughly 10 years later I’ve decided to make a response video to baby me. Here’s what I have to say to me.
Hi I’m OmoIgbo humbled to have you watching and I love hearing from you. If you want to see more videos don’t forget to subscribe before heading out and feel free to like comment and share this video. Okay thanks
#atheist #blackatheist #deconversionfromChristianityBlack Atheist - Discrimination Against Atheists Around The WorldOmo Igbo TheAgnostic2020-02-07 | In my last video I talked about how some African churches like the one I attended growing up, operate like cults. I was a believer for a while but as soon as I had the chance to actually think about what I was being taught...I jumped ship. However, I am incredibly lucky that I live in a country where I am able to do that. In some parts of Nigeria it’s not safe for people to be open about their non belief. So I decided to look into what discrimination nonbelievers are currently facing around the world. Here’s what I found.
#atheist #blackatheist #deconversionfromChristianityBlack Atheist - Religious CultsOmo Igbo TheAgnostic2020-01-31 | I’ve seen a lot of people talking about cults online recently. I am by no means a cult expert. But the churches I grew up going to definitely were part of a large network of what I believe to be mind controlling churches with profit as the head honcho's motive. The whole thing is fascinating to me. But what is a cult really? And why are those somehow more bizarre to us than any of the other “respectable” religious beliefs out there? Here’s what I think.

#atheist #blackatheist #deconversionfromChristianityBlack Atheist - Secular SpiritualityOmo Igbo TheAgnostic2020-01-16 | Do nonbelievers feel empty inside? If I don’t believe in God then there must be a hole in my heart where Jesus should be right? That’s not true. At least not for me. Since I don’t have (or want) a religion (to at least partially) outline what spirituality means to me I spend a lot of time trying to figure it out. This is what I’ve come up with.

#atheist #blackatheist #deconversionfromChristianityBlack Atheist - Made Up GodOmo Igbo TheAgnostic2020-01-10 | Let’s say you wake up one morning and, through nothing short of a breakdown in the fabric of our reality, you are gifted with the ability to design your own religion. You. are. God. Muahahaha. What would you create? What would you want to be true of our existence? If I could snap my fingers and make my explanation come true, what would I want it to be? Hmm....that’s a very hard question for me to answer.

I find some religious people to be incredibly annoying. My biggest pet peeve is when they try to have their beliefs dominate what by law, are secular spaces.
Luckily, there is such a thing as the separation of church and state. Here are 20 court cases that exemplify that separation in recent history.

I realized that while there are many popular celebrity white non believers, the same cannot be said about black celebrities.
So I did some digging and found some. You’re welcome.
