This lesson covers the quotient rule and dividing with exponents. Students learn the quotient rule, which states that when dividing two powers that have the same base, subtract the exponents. For example, (x^9)/(x^5) = x^4. To divide (8d^5)/(4d^3), divide the coefficients and subtract the exponents, to get 2d^2.
