Learn how to make your own bulk taco seasoning mix using spices and herbs you most likely already have in your pantry. No more buying packets at the store! This is just as delicious but with much less salt and no artificial ingredients.
What you'll need: (makes enough to season 8 lbs ground beef or turkey)
6 Tbsp chili powder
3 Tbsp cumin
2 Tbsp paprika
1 Tbsp onion powder
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp dried oregano
1 Tbsp salt
1-1/2 tsp black pepper
1-1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (more or less depending on how spicy you like it)
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and transfer to an airtight container. To use, brown 1 pound ground beef or turkey. Drain fat and return to heat and add in 2 Tbsp seasoning mix with 1/2 cup water. Cook over medium-high heat for 5 minutes or until water is absorbed. Serve and enjoy!
