Per video viewer request, here is a quick guide on how I got NES games (Ice Climber example) to run on the PS2 with ease. Please note the game extension is .nes and it worked fine, with save states.
Make sure to setup save state path in order for save states to save and load properly.
To find NES roms, use your favorite search engine and go from there. Enjoy!

Troubleshooting step: Antivirus should be disabled temporarily while completing instructions, even before playing game.
Port forward these ports if issues playing online: (TCP/UDP): 27014-27019, 8766

Well, I revisit this topic again to show gamers that the solution still works in 2016 and with latest patch. It really isnt that difficult, enjoy!
