Struggling with laser alignment on odd-shaped pieces? In this quick tip video, I’ll show you my go-to method for perfectly aligning one-off or prototype designs using nothing but paper or cardstock. No jigs, no fuss—just fast, reliable placement every time.
I use this technique when I cut unique shapes out of acrylic with my CO₂ laser and need to precisely align them for engraving on my UV laser. Since many of these are proof-of-concept pieces or short-run designs, I don’t want to spend time or materials building a dedicated jig. Instead, I cut a disposable template out of paper or cardstock to act as a placement guide. It’s quick, cheap, and dead accurate.
