The Fighting Uruk-Hai and their dreaded pike blocks are some of the toughest enemies to shift out of a defensive position in the Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game. They're also some of the absolute easiest to paint!

In hindsight, I think I actually prefer the appearance of Death Metal to what Rough Iron would have given me. Hm!

THE BASE: Layer of PVA followed by sand, painted first with thinned down Brigadine Brown, then heavily drybrushed with Paratrooper Tan with a little touch of Ancient Stone on the larger clumps of texture. Tiny dots of PVA and static grass to add texture.
