The 14th Army was made of men from Great Britain, India, and Africa, sent to Burma to resist the onslaught of the Imperial Japanese Army. General Slim's Forgotten Army was overlooked by press of the time and in many publications since as a sideshow to the 'real war' taking place in the ETO, MTO and the Russian front - a real feat considering the 14th Army represented the largest combined army in the Commonwealth and one of the largest in operation in the world.

Put down a layer of PVA and sprinkle liberally with basing sand. Let it dry, then paint with thinned-down Vallejo Flat Brown. Once dry, overbrush liberally with Vallejo Brown Sand, then drybrush with Vallejo Dark Sand. Add dots of PVA and static grass to taste, or use tufts you like.

Ive always wanted to title a video in a similar way to a 19th Century recipe book, the ones that contain things like Another Treatment for Beef Gravy and such. It just tickles me the right way.
Orks can be incredibly busy miniatures with loads of little bits of detail that youd almost want to paint in a dozen different colours, but by sticking to a limited palette and concentrating on the colours thatll stand out the most to the eye - usually the skin and the Clan colours - youll save time by being able to skip most of those little bits and pieces!

MARPAT camouflage is unique to the United States Marine Corps - hence the name, after Marine Pattern. Though technically a four-colour pattern, at this scale the tiny flecks of off-white in the swatch would be practically invisible, so not worth the extra work! The best part of painting Marines is that their personal equipment is all one colour; far faster and simpler than WWII Germans or Napoleonic British with all those fancy bits and bobs... 😅
This is also one of those rare instances where Im painting a uniform where theres a pretty good chance where some of my viewers might have worn it professionally! If thats the case, let me know in the comments how close I got it!

Its vanishingly rare that something as big as a 3D printer shows up for me to review, so I like to make sure Ive had plenty of chance to test the machine and push to its limits. It turns out that printing with the Halot-X1 is surprisingly difficult to screw up!

Imperial troops might actually be some of the easiest to paint, by and large, despite whites reputation for being finicky or difficult. Especially working from a very light primer!
Most of these colours from the Army Painters Speedpaint range have similar enough variations from Citadels Contrast that you should be able to follow along without difficulty. The results will look ever so slightly different once youre finished, but theres no real problem there!

Big miniatures can seem daunting. Busy miniatures, too. So a big (well, big-ish) miniature like a Super Mutant thats covered in all manner of bits and pieces? Just break it down and work through, step by step... and drown the whole thing in a brown wash. Cant go wrong! This big guys going to pull duty in my games of Majestic 13 and Five Klicks from Home, as well as showing up to scare the pants off of my players when we swing back around to the Fallout RPG.
