So this could be, a "women thing," where as the men don't seem to mind.
Now with that said, its one thing to be annoyed, but its another thing to try to overly compete and belittle the opposing co-host in ways that simply make no sense. It seems that in Dana's mind, she has already achieved queen ship, and regardless of her intelligence, wit, or performance at any day, she feels all her comments, tenor at Fox are entitled to some kind of powerful compelling nature that deserve the upmost respect and attention. In reality, this is simply not so, she is still the co-host who was picked as the straight man, and she was originally picked as George W Bush's press secretary to soften his image on the Iraq war, not so much for raw talent.

She is also a federal attorney doing litigation which takes verbal ability where the performance is demanded upon for the success of the case. Its because of this background we see some unusual traits displayed by Emily on air, and when that is mixed with a seemingly contrasting air head valley girl legally brunette demeanor, you know good TV is in store. So this has the makings to outshine another women at the table, which is why Dana is reeling, so that she is not out-shined, yet again.
