Welcome to another educational stream! This is a VOD from my Twitch channel date 7/24/25 with guest Bryan Bove-Wimberly talking about his study specialization in queer comics. We looked at some of the history of comics from "Pre-code" comics that had lots of cross-dressing and gender-bending, to the comics of today!

What I learned from this lecture is that the story here is very complicated. While there's always been queer creators and expression, the demographic shift over the last few decades has mirrored a demographic shift in society. There's a lot more LGBT superheroes now than there were in the older ages of comics, but Batman & Robin was originally under fire for confusing children... which is strangely the same line we hear today...
