This is an arrangement of "Queen in the Dark Night," the first stage BGM from C-Lab's Rusty for PC98 and Dos/V. The audio was captured from a North American toaster model NES deck.
Here's a tune from one of the best not-Castlevania Castlevania games out there. The track uses the VRC6 mapper, and the drums and tubular bells are done with PCM samples. The VRC6 wasn't really necessary (the track could've been compacted down for the base 2A03 without totally butchering it), but I wanted to experiment a bit with the VRC6's saw wave. I used it to play the lead throughout, but I was blending it with one of the VRC6's pulse channels to give it a more distinct sound. I think it sounds a lot like the C64's SID chip at certain points, which was pretty neat.
