Introduction and 1st unit gameplay.
Game version: 3.24 (unofficial) Patch there: markshan.com/knightmare
F.A.Q about Quake 2: forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=584359
Game is too dark in OpenGL and max out of brightness is not work? Open console (~) and type: intensity 2; gl_modulate 3; vid_gamma 0.75 - Then restart the game. Result you see in this video.
How to enable shadows? Open console (~) and type this: gl_shadows 1 - That's it! But this effect is far from perfect.
How to DO a soundtrack is working is game?
1st for original build:
Download official soundtrack somewhere in the internet.. convert it to .OGG format by any free music convertor. Remane all tracks to: track02.ogg, track03.ogg, etc.. Then create a folder and name it "music" (without quotes), example - C:\Quake2\baseq2\music. Then place all tracks in this folder. DONE. !NOTE! Converted soundtrack works only in 3.24 version of the game.
2nd method, easy, but only for steam version of the game:
Download and install "Ultimate Quake II Patch": forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?p=20806550
Includes a source port and full soundtrack, already converted. Automaticly installed with this patch.
