![How to use GOLDEN [Acrylic] Paints in Markers | Pints From the Paint Bar
Artist Taylor Laurie recently asked how to use GOLDEN Artist Acrylics in self-3D-printed paint markers. High Flow Acrylics are the best choice for markers - ready to go to work directly from the bottle. Other GOLDEN paint lines can also be modified to work in markers.
Thanks for the great question, Taylor Laurie.

![HOW TO TURN HEAVY BODY [ACRYLIC PAINT] INTO FLUID
This Pints from the Paint Bar question is one we get a lot: can you make GOLDEN Heavy Body paint behave more like GOLDEN Fluid paints? More simply, what’s the best way to thin a thick paint?
Distilled water and/or a variety of GOLDEN acrylic mediums will thin Heavy Body colors to a more Fluid consistency.
However, adding water or fluid medium spreads out (extends) the pigment and binder in your Heavy Body paint creating a more wash-like quality on your painting. Thinned Heavy Body will be more transparent and, in that way it is NOT the same as our Fluid Paints which have a pigment load and opacity very similar to full-strength Heavy Body colors.
It may seem strange, but the difference is between our Heavy Body and Fluid paints is NOT the amount of water or medium in the paint – they have pretty much the same amount color for color.
Thank you, Meredith, for this great question! Enjoy your FREE pint of paint from the GOLDEN Paint Bar!
