The QCX-mini transceiver is a nice little CW-only ham radio rig. Due to its size, it has got no power ON-OFF button on it. Plugging-unplugging the power supply cord each time switching the radio off or on is a bit annoying, and it may cause the early wear-out of the power supply connector. This problem is easily cured by installing the ON-OFF switch straight into the power cord. I used the micro on-off switch from Adafruit (no affiliation here). You may choose any suitable switch to your taste.
The battery voltage indication feature must be activated in the QCX-mini by a bit of soldering and a bit of menu-mingling. If you have built the radio yourself from a kit, you've probably had done that already. But if it's your first need to open up the case of your factory-built radio, this video might be of some use.
