QCAD Tips & Tricks Twin RC Plane Plan
Join me in this video as I show you QCAD tips and tricks that I used to draw a twin RC plane plan with QCAD. The twin motor RC plane flew great and the plans are available in the links below, as well as a video of building the foam board airplane.
The QCAD tutorial will provide a tutorial for beginners and go over the QCAD drawing elements. QCAD is very easy to pick up and is an ideal program for CAD beginners. Key item is to just practice and practice.
QCAD is a wonderful and very affordable (around $40 USD) computer aided design program for 2 dimensional (2D) drawings. I have a review (link below) of dedicated QCAD Tips and Tricks. This video will offer further QCAD tips & tricks as I demonstrate how to use QCAD to draw a set of plans.
Note that there is a free version of QCAD available for download if you just wish to try it out.
I will go over how to use QCAD to draw a top view of the RC twin airplane using the Parallel with Distance tool as well as the Break Cut Segment tool. Key insight is drawing half of the fuselage and using the mirror command to draw the second half.
I show how to use a master reference library for the motor, and use the rotate command to assist with drawing the fuselage side view.
