Im not sure whether it was a Mesa stack update or a Dolphin update, or a combination of the two, but today I noticed that Dolphins Vulkan backend began working on Linux! Heres a quick video to show its performance.
I noticed that the video looks a little choppy but you can see in Dolphins FPS counter that for the most part it stays at 60fps or there around. I have also included my activity monitor (KSysGuard) and system temperatures (PSensor) in this video, to give you an idea of system usage.
To also help make this demo more accurate, I kept some of the applications that I frequently use opened on one of my other desktops. I tend to keep these open when I run Dolphin and, just like when playing games through Steam, I keep things like Discord and Chromium open in the background.
I should note that on my first recording attempt (and there were many attempts, mostly to do with me configuring OBS) I got a strange error message saying that there was a read error. Not sure what caused it but I played for about 25 minutes after that and had no such error again. Perhaps it was a minor hiccup.
