So a Discord server I was in was hosting a weekly Wii game night and this game was chosen last week so I decided to give a shot. Also as you can tell, I'm pretty terrible at this game, but I still enjoyed it nonetheless. (despite the whole game being in Japanese.)

Q: What is this "Wiimmfi?"
A: Wiimmfi is a replacement service for the now-defunct Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection ( also known as Nintendo WFC) service was an online gaming service that provided online play for free in various Nintendo DS and Wii games. On May 20th, 2014, Nintendo discontinued the online service, the main reason was that the host of the service, GameSpy, was discontinuing its servers. Nintendo WFC was originally needed for playing Wii and DS games online, but the Wiimmfi Project has replicated much of its functionality and allows for continued online play in DS and Wii software.
Q: How can I play Wii and DS games online again?
A: To play Wii and DS games online again you will need a custom server called Wiimmfi. To use Wiimmfi, the games must be patched to use the new domains and also to change some other settings. There are three ways to get connected with Wiimmfi as shown here:
- You can use the easiest method where you just change the DNS of your Wii or DS's internet settings and you are good to go.
- Another way to get Wiimmfi and you're using a Wii is that you can softmod it and get connected right away, and you will also be able to access more features if you decide to softmod your Wii.
- If you are using a Wii or emulating one and running a game as an ISO you can patch it so it runs with the Wiimmfi custom server.
