The Russians are signaling through diplomatic channels that they are open to a ceasefire as long as they get to freeze the frontlines and keep all the territory they have stolen from Ukraine. Ukraine knows Russia would only be willing to do this if things internally for were looking bad for Putin. Russia meanwhile continues their strikes on civilian targets in Ukrainian cities including printing houses and home repair stores.
