The Purple Gallinule juvenile in Orange County, California, is a record first sighting of a bird found year-round in FLORIDA. The gallinule was discovered by Charles Baker on the morning of August 13, 2026. At first, he thought it was the juvenile of an American Coot it was with. But his wife took a pic with her cellphone. It was later identified as a Purple Gallinule juvenile.
