Separation
Lives, with similar coincidences,
Speed, being one of them,
One joins a family, the other turns to a darker path,
And finally, reunion.
As comedic as either of them are, the separation so early did bring about some amount of trauma.
Our buddy, QF, has the coping mechanism of simply forgetting. (Usually forgetting is my thing.)
There are, however, things stopping the good feeling from lingering, as the darker path isn't going to just let you abandon it.
You can try to be good, even if it's not a very good job.
