In the PTC Taster Digital Lab, students explore how genetic variation influences the way we perceive the world. Learn how a person's genotype for the taste receptor gene TAS2R38 influences their ability to taste the substance phenylthiocarbamide (PTC). Though TAS2R38 genotype is a good predictor of a person's PTC taster phenotype, there are instances where genotype and phenotype appear to be mismatched. This video explains why that might happen.
The PTC Taster Digital Lab can be used as a standalone Lab Simulation, or as a companion to our PTC Taster hands-on Learning Lab: minipcr.com/product/minipcr-genotype-to-phenotype-ptc-taster-lab
