Hey everyone, welcome to Episode 5 of Psychology of Gaming. In this episode we take a look at 2015’s Batman Arkham Knight and discuss how the developers at Rocksteady were able to implement a full out psychotic breakdown into the game. Our hero, Batman, experiences hallucinations of the Joker all night, but this is just one symptom that the Dark Knight must overcome on his quest to defeat Scarecrow and the villians of Gotham. Join me, as we examine the game, and determine what is a psychotic break, how its implemented into Batman Arkham Knight, and how Batman is able to overcome it. Joker’s bad blood, Scarecrow’s fear toxin, and Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease abound, in today’s video. Hope you enjoy!
