When people make plans, they do mean to go through with them but very often they fail to do so. How can we reduce the possibility of such a thing happening?
Surprisingly, simply asking them a few questions like….
- Where are you going to do that?
- How are you going to do that?
- When are you going to do that?
- What do you think you will have done before you do that?
…can increase the likelihood that they will be consistent with their initial decision by about 10%! (So now we know what to do when we assign our students H/W… Small changes can make a big difference).
